my favorite album of 1991 (a.k.a. the best album you never heard in your life)

Andrew Jacobs here,

411 was an early '90s melodic hardcore band from my hometown of Orange County, California.  And back in 1991, they were not only my #1 favorite band but arguably the most popular Orange County, California hardcore band of that year as well.  To give you an idea of just how popular 411 was, they were the first hardcore band that I ever saw play in front of a quadruple digit number of people when they opened for Fugazi and The Offspring at the 4000 capacity (sold out in advance) Hollywood Palladium on September 8, 1991.  I wound up going to 7 of their shows (BY FAR the most amount of times that I've seen any one band) before their untimely break up after their 1992 summer tour.

Their one and only full length album This Isn't Me was released during the summer of 1991 and is still available via RevHQ.com (but not digitally, of course).  Needless to say, I highly recommend it.

On a rock-related side note, Frank Zappa's The Best Band You Never Heard In Your Life (a.k.a. the inspiration for the title of this post) was released in 1991 as well.  That album IS available digitally via iTunes and will be reissued on CD on October 30th.  Needless to say, I highly recommend it too.
