Networks, KISS Reviews, and The Group Thing
We've been awfully theme-y lately and decided to spend this week doing what we do best; being unorganized and playing whatever we feel from our iPod. Before we get to the music, we've got a few news items. Cue the teletype:
We're now a part of a cult! Decibel Geek Podcast is now a proud member of the Auralgasm Podcasting Network. Don't fear, this doesn't mean that you'll be squirting from your ears in the future. It simply means that we were selected from a large group of entries to be a member of this new podcasting network for independent, high-quality shows. The majority of the shows on the network are comedy based so we're not sure if that means we are funny or unintentionally funny. Either way, we're thrilled to be part of this new and growing network. Head over to Auralgasm to see our dedicated show page with custom artwork. And while you're there, check out some of the other shows. We have and they've made us laugh. We're just sayin'.
This week Chris put up an exclusive review on the Decibel Geek facebook page of his thoughts on KISS' recent performance in New Orleans during the NCAA Men's basketball tournament. Lots of reaction was elicited from Paul Stanley's vocal performance and Chris shares his thoughts and concerns over what this may mean for a very busy 2012 in the world of KISS.
Lastly, before we get to the tunes, we're on the prowl for more writers/contributors to the official website. We love the content that we receive from our current contributors but are thirsting for more content to share with you, the listener, while you wait for the next episode each week. Uh, Aren't We Supposed to Hear Music?
Sorry, we had to shill for a few minutes there but today's show is most definitely packed to the gills with a variety of rock and metal. You're going to hear a little bit of everything today from pop-rock to Danish metal as well as a great track from an Australian band, Chinatown Angels, who were nice enough to send us a bunch of free swag including t-shirts, cds, and posters.
We wouldn't play the music if it sucked so you can rest assured that this band is exactly the type of fresh blood that we look for in today's music.
In conclusion, we hope you enjoy the scattered musical picks that we have for you today. They are all over the place and there's definitely something for everyone. Rock on this week and we'll see you next week!

Thanks for the mention brothers. I have this show downloaded and fully plan to listen later tonight. And hey, if a good band ever sends you too much shit, send it Classic Rock Bottom's way and we'll definitely give it the once-over.

Credit needs to go to Jeff for building the webpage, he busted his balls doing that. I wanted to make it more purty with pictures of flowers, kittens and Betty White but was completely ignored. Don't know why, but there it is.
Fantastic to hear Mercyful Fate, don't think you ever hear that or King Diamond on the radio. Wait, no thinking there. You don't.
Never been a fan of Ugly Kid Joe, but that song seriously smoked. I must admit that I was probably turned off by that one song (whatever the hell it was) and never bothered to give them a proper listen.
Love/Hate? Hell yeah! Fantastic band, shame they're kind of under the radar. If you don't have "Wasted In America" HUNT IT DOWN!!!
Enuff Z'nuff got quite the shaft from their record company. "Strength" is a brilliant album, from my limited memory I believe it wasn't marketed properly or even at all and the album fell through the cracks. The followup, "Animals With Human Intelligence" is as good in my opinion.
Hey, I like Cinderella. 'Nuff said!
I liked Chinatown Angels, reminded me of Rose Tatoo, especially when I heard the slide geetar. Something I'm going to have to pick up, good, solid metal.
I know I'm forgetting something, but I'm old and it's too be expected!

Merciful Fate - First song I've heard by MF. I liked it. Are you sure that's not Aaron on backing vocals. It sure sounds like him from the high notes he was hitting during your discussion.
Chinatown Angels - I liked this. Hey, if they sent you too many CD's, send one this way and we'll give it a feature on CRB.
Overkill - Cool song. Another band I'm not that familiar with. But we do have a couple of big Overkill fans on this site. I'm not crazy about the lead vocals, but I dig the backing vocals.
Van Halen - Also my favorite from the new album, trailed just slightly by Stay Frosty and Blood And Fire. I agree with Chris, this song and those other two sound like old school VH. I can't stress enough how pleasantly surprised I have been by this album. Album of the Year for me. I can't see anything knocking it off. Even Kiss. Monster will have to be way better than Sonic Boom to surpass VH.
Cinderella - My favorite Cinderella song off of my favorite Cinderella album.
Enuff Z Nuff - I liked this too. Either Jon or Niels or somebody have featured Enuff Z Nuff on this site before, at least it seems that way. Not a band I have ever been into, but the few songs I've heard tell me I should re-evaluate that. And that story Aaron told was awesome!
